About us
Since 2011, we have been developing web applications helping scientists connect, exchange knowledge, and communicate the results of their research to the public. We have built the largest community of life science professionals and one of the largest scientific career portals. Altogether, we have developed 11 applications used by thousands of researchers working in all areas of science around the world.

Services
We develop web applications to help researchers connect, communicate, and exchange information. We offer a range of services, including building interactive networking platforms for researchers, custom alumni management systems, job boards for science and engineering recruitment, and event organization applications tailored to scientific events. Our solutions are designed to enhance communication, strengthen connections, and streamline recruitment and event management processes.
Additionally, we create custom applications tailored to your specific needs and project requirements. For example, we can build platforms to connect members of EU project consortia, facilitating collaboration and efficient information exchange.
You have data you wish to visualise in a web application? We can help you by building a data management system with interactive visualisations. Our services encompass a wide range of solutions, including custom applications tailored to your specific needs and project requirements. We typically use Postgres for data storage and the Plotly graphing library to create interactive charts and dashboards that pull data directly from the database.
In addition to visualisation, we provide comprehensive data management services, including import/export functionality, data entry, and access management. Our systems are designed to streamline the process of handling data, ensuring that you can easily manage, manipulate, and analyze information while maintaining control over user permissions. Whether you need a platform for researchers to share insights, tools for analyzing complex datasets, or interfaces that facilitate collaboration among project consortia, we’re here to assist.
Effective communication is key to successful science outreach, and we can assist you with both technical solutions and practical advice to enhance your science communication efforts. Our web development services are designed to support your communication goals, helping you create platforms that engage and inform your audience, whether you’re sharing research findings, collaborating on EU projects, or promoting scientific initiatives.
In addition to our web development expertise, we offer tailored support in developing robust marketing strategies that align with your specific goals. Our consulting services also extend to providing advice on open science and science policy issues, ensuring that your projects comply with the latest standards and best practices. By integrating our web solutions with strategic communication and marketing, we help you navigate complex science policy landscapes and maximize the impact of your work in the scientific community.
Thirteen years of experience and thousands of users attest to the quality of our web development and consulting services.

Work history
Life Science Network | 2011 (ongoing)
The Life Science Network is an internet platform dedicated to professional networking and the sharing of information and knowledge in the life sciences. As our initial project, it has grown to become our largest and most significant initiative to date.
Scientific Today | 2014 (ongoing)
Initially called Science Simplified, the project aimed to help research organizations enhance their communication with the public. Over the years, the project underwent a name change to Scientific Today in 2018 and shifted its direction in 2023. It is now an RSS feed aggregator that delivers the latest content in science, health, and technology, presented as a customizable stream based on individual interests.
Science HR | 2016 (ongoing)
Science HR is a career portal designed for scientists and engineers in both academia and industry, which we started working on in 2016. It features a job board that enhances the hiring process, connecting top talent with the best opportunities. Additionally, it offers an optional recruiting system that serves as the foundation for developing custom recruiting and application management solutions.
Engineering HR | 2016 (ongoing)
In 2016, we also initiated Engineering HR, a project similar to Science HR but focused on engineering jobs.
Science Events | 2017 (ongoing)
Science Events is a scientific conference organization tool that began as a side project in 2017 but quickly became one of our favorites. The goal of Science Events is to assist scientists in organizing scientific events, starting with the creation of a webpage and extending to registration and abstract management.
Abstream | 2017-2024
Launched in 2017, Abstream was an application designed to aggregate published research directly from scientific journal publishers. Utilizing RSS feed technology, it imported content from various journals into its database. Registered users could follow specific journals and receive tailored notifications based on their interests and keywords, ensuring they stayed updated on new research relevant to them.
Antybuddy | 2017-2018
The AntYbuddY platform was developed for a UK client to provide scientists with a free service for submitting independent, journal-quality reviews of antibodies used in research.
EPI-Net | 2017-2022
For the University Hospital Tübingen and later the University of Verona, we developed a platform that integrates epidemiological data from humans and animals to provide up-to-date information on the prevalence and incidence of antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections, AMR outbreaks, and emerging antibiotic resistances.
Prevent | 2018-2019
We developed a prototype of a health-related document exchange platform for a research group at the University of Heidelberg.
Ukrainet | 2018-2019
We built a platform for the German-Ukrainian Academic Society that consolidates information on funded collaborative research projects with Ukrainian scientists.
PrIMAVeRa | 2021-2026
Since 2021, we have been part of the Primavera consortium, a European project funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2. The project aims to develop an open-source, web-based platform that combines mathematical models with a comprehensive epidemiological repository. Our role involves integrating project data into an existing database and developing data visualisation and access tools.
